Productivity Hacks – Saving Money by Shaving Time

time saving tips for online sellers

I’m always looking to shave off a few seconds/minutes to routine tasks. Yes, it’s a cliche’ but SO true: Time is much more valuable than money – time is unrecoverable!

Thus, here are my top 8 productivity tools – all of them are free – that I  use every day. I use a PC but some of them will work on a MAC, too.

1.) Gmail Canned Responses – Tired of typing the same thing (or very similar things) to each customer/person who emails you? This Google Labs plug-in (you have to   use Gmail*) will cut your time down. Yes, you can use it to reply to the email you get from the Amazon seller inbox. (Amazon lets you use your ‘regular’ email address when corresponding with buyers via email). Just be sure your canned responses don’t include any web site address other than your Amazon one!

2.) Facebook News Feed Eradicator: I am seeing a lot of my fellow sellers spend hours (days?) at a time on Facebook. One of my subscribers calls Facebook a ‘monumental time suck’. This Chrome browser extension cuts the distractions way, way down. You have to try it. (Repeat after me: “I don’t need to know everything that’s going on in every seller facebook group“). Get the Eradicator (free, Chrome browser only) here: goo.gl/qe820b

cleer_pro (Mobile)3.) Cleer Pro – You may have heard me already mention my own software. I developed this to make Online Arbitrage a lot easier for you while you’re browsing for deals or doing research on Amazon.com. Rave reviews are coming in (thanks guys and gals): cleerpro.com

44.) IFTTT (“If This Then That”) – Amazon and eBay sellers use IFTTT to get email or text alerts when something goes on sale/back in stock, somewhere.

5.) Flashback Express – I use this software (for Windows only) to quickly capture, annotate with my voice) and upload a video of my screen. This is great if you need to communicate something ‘on your screen’ to a colleague, freelancer, or even the occasional customer. Of course you’ll need your built-in or peripheral microphone on your computer to make this work.

6.) Unroll.me – Still clicking ‘delete’ or ‘unsubscribe’ for those dozens of different offer emails you get each day? Unsubscribe from the ones you don’t want, ‘in bulk’. My video covers this one: screencast.com/t/8uVXmkPQ

7.) Image Resizer (Windows only): This is the only image resizer I know of that a.) reduces a file image without opening up any program – It’s simply a right-click menu command, and b.) resizes stuff without making the resulting downsized image look all jagged. Get it here: imageresizer.codeplex.com/

8.) Goo.gl Link shortener: Why send someone a web a link like “www.kmart.com/wet-n-wild-fergie-centerstage-collection-shimmer-palette/p-015W006017266001P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2” when you can use Google’s link shortner and make instantly make it shorter: goo.gl/Q9SnV9
