Craigslist Best Practices

Craigslist has made changes to its posting process which has resulted in a new format for ads which we implemented into our system. For best results, follow and implement these practices when listing to Craigslist.

 1. Post ONLY 2 to 3 new ads only per day at 20 to 30 minute intervals. The reason for this is your listings can possibly be flagged. Craigslist is a community that is policed by its users and it is not uncommon for items to be flagged due to the possibility of having too many listings posted consecutively or possibly the same item posted in different cities.
 2. Renew all ads that are available for renewal AFTER POSTING NEW ADS
 3. Post items in the surrounding area closest to you. If you are in Orlando, Florida, do not post items in Dallas, Texas. Stay within a single marketplace and do not list to Tampa, Miami, Tallahassee if you are in Orlando.
 4. Remove items from Craigslist when they sell unless you have quantity of the same item.
 5. If an item gets flagged, DO NOT try to repost the same exact item. Wait at least 48 hours to repost this same item. Consider changing the title and description

By following these best practices, CrossPostIt will be able to better serve you and assist in getting your items posted on Craigslist.
